Synopsis: Specialist technology services, hardware and infrastructure for public sector educational organisations.

 

Update: The replacement framework, RM6103 Education technology, is now open for applications. 

The Education Technology framework agreement takes an educational focused approach and will be a route to market for the Education Sector. The framework also caters for: further education, health, blue light, and any other establishment that has a training facility.

Full description: This agreement provides schools, academies, universities and colleges with access to educational specialist technology services, hardware and infrastructure. CCS designed and built the agreement in collaboration with the Department for Education and the Education Skills Funding Agency for buying specialist technology services, hardware and infrastructure. If you are looking to source non-specialist ICT products and services use the Technology Products 2 (RM3733) agreement.

Access

You need to run a further competition when you buy, rather than making a direct award, so that every supplier has the opportunity to tender for your business. When the competition has run, you award the contract to the supplier with the most economically advantageous tender. Savings

We have developed a benefits methodology to capture and measure savings based upon a Cabinet Office approved methodology.

With a good selection of suppliers, you will achieve best value for money and demonstrable savings through the further competition process.

The customer guidance document contains a section on best practice to obtain the best value for money and pricing.

Suppliers are required to provide transparency in invoicing to allow you to see clearly the cost of; products, services maintenance installation.

This data will allow you to directly compare the price of products and understand the price implications of your buying practices.

Background

There are 20 established education sector infrastructure suppliers just over 50% of whom are classed as SMEs

ICT Services for Education has been procured by Crown Commercial Service to replace the historic BECTA agreement of the same name.

Designed and built in collaboration with the Department for Education and the Education Funding Agency.

The agreement provides schools, academies, universities and colleges with access to specialist technology services, hardware and infrastructure.

Provides a flexible and quick route for educational establishments to meet their new technology needs and provides customers access to a diverse pool of suppliers ranging from small to large enterprises.

Initial term of two years plus two additional single year extension options.
